A Big Night For Shefford Scout Group
.

Thursday 17th March was not only St. Patrick's day, but the day Shefford's Explorer unit got it's first Explorer! Over the coming months he will be joined by several more of our Scouts who are all very excited to be some of the first Explorers in Shefford and are all looking forward to helping the Unit develop into a popular section for Shefford Scout Group as the other sections are.

Three of our older Scouts were presented with Challenge badges in recognition of their hard work, as they work towards gaining the Chief Scout Gold Award which is the highest award available in the Scout Section. Well done Alex, Dan and Jack, keep up the hard work.

Our Scout Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders have made their annual trip to Woodlarks in Farnham, Surrey. We had a great weekend and the weather was bright and sunny! Everyone worked really hard over the weekend to help get the campsite ready for this year's camping season. Have a look at the photos from our weekend.

We're already looking forward to next year's trip.

Situated in twelve acres of beautiful Surrey countryside, Woodlarks Camp Site enables children and adults with disabilities to enjoy a host of activities they may never have thought possible. Woodlarks camps can be as tranquil or as adventurous as you want them to be; whatever kind of experience you are looking for, Woodlarks can make it happen.

Take a look at the Woodlarks website here

Pakistan Flood Relief
One of our Scouts organised a loose change spiral to raise funds for the Pakistan Flood Relief Charity on the 29th January as part of his Global Challenge badge, this is one of the badges needed to gain the Chief Scout’s Gold Award, the highest award a Scout can gain.
Scouts brought down any loose change the had collected and we laid the coins out on the Scout Hut floor in spiral, over the two hours they managed to raise nearly £50.

Our Cubs Meet The Chief Scout
Our Cubs went to Windsor in April for the St George’s Day parade and met the Chief Scout Bear Grylls; they certainly seemed to enjoy their day in Windsor.

There are more pictures in the Red Pack photo gallery here

Other Cub Trips
Our cubs have also been out visiting Duxford Imperial War Museum with the rest of Bedfordshire’s Cubs. Again those that went seemed to have really enjoyed their day out and  no doubt made new friends .

A day trip to London was also a great success with Cubs from both Packs enjoying their day in London sightseeing.
